Working together toward a better world
We firmly believe that overcoming our current predicament will require embracing shared values and collective philosophy, and rebuking individualist and anthropocentric narratives.
In addition to our partnerships with councils and facilitation in schools, certain other organisations have played integral roles in making our work possible. We are incredibly grateful for the encouragement and support they have provided, and would like to acknowledge each for their invaluable ongoing contributions.

While climate change is clearly a problem, it can be useful for bringing organisations together to cooperate, and to get people of all ages involved.”

Lighthouse Aotearoa is proud to work closely with Future Curious on the delivery and national expansion of the Climate Change Learning Programme.
This partnership brings together shared values and distinct areas of expertise to provide engaging, locally relevant climate education for schools and communities. By working alongside Sian Carvell - who developed the Climate Change Learning Programme in 2018 and has overseen its facilitation in Ōtautahi Christchurch in the years since - we’re helping to empower rangatahi with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to understand climate issues and take meaningful action for a sustainable future.
Lighthouse Aotearoa collaborates with the Nelson Tasman Climate Forum to amplify young voices on the subject of climate change.
We are incredibly grateful to the Nelson Tasman Climate Forum for providing countless instances of personal and professional support, and for facilitating introductions within the Te Tauihu community. The Forum provides Lighthouse Aotearoa with support as an umbrella organisation, which has enabled us to formalise our operations and earmark funding for additional classes and extracurricular activities.
Lighthouse Aotearoa is a proud member organisation of the New Zealand Association of Environmental Education (NZAEE), working within this network to develop and disseminate the Climate Change Learning Programme.
This collaboration connects us with a national network of practitioners committed to advancing high-quality climate education across Aotearoa. Through shared learning, resources, and collective action, we’re strengthening our impact and supporting effective, connected approaches to empowering rangatahi in the face of climate change and other socioenvironmental issues.
Lighthouse Aotearoa wishes to acknowledge FTN Motion for their dedication to bold innovation, and for helping to make the dream of the 1WRLD motorbike a reality.
Since July of 2025, Will of Lighthouse Aotearoa has been utilising a fully electric Streetdog80 motorcycle – manufactured by the Hamilton-based company FTN Motion – for his work within and outside of schools. This been a dream for several years, and it would not have been possible without the generous support of FTN’s engineering and sales teams. Because of their support, young people throughout Te Tauihu are learning first-hand about the amazing potential of electrification, and that helping to build a more sustainable world doesn’t always need to be a chore.
